I had a whole different post ready to go. Re-read it before hitting ‘Publish’ and thought no.
Not Today.
So, instead of that post* here’s a snippet from this book I’ve found myself reaching for lately…
“The only meaning life has is that which we assign to it; the only special moments are those which we declare so.
Celebrate your everyday.”
Ice Cream for breakfast by laura jane williams
Which reminded me of a photo of Maisie I got the other evening, while she was eating her tea…she wasn’t, as the title might suggest, eating ice cream for breakfast.
Not here anyway ;)
Never have I seen anyone enjoy her food more than this girl.
Pure. Happiness.
And it’s only my not-so-sbesh Spag Bol!
So here goes, for our first installment of “life lessons” that I have been reminded of recently – this one covers the chapter titled “making the ordinary an occasion”.
Here’s more about Ice Cream for Breakfast, if any of you need another push…
“Full of spirit and un-self-conscious enthusiasm, Ice Cream for Breakfast: Child-Like Solutions to Bullsh*t Adult Problems is the permission slip all too-grown-up-for-their-own-good-but-secretly-scared-of-adulting adults need to locate their inner-child nestled deep within, so that we might all relax enough to laugh harder, wonder more, and marvel at magic on the daily.”
* but seriously, girls, if you’re reading this, I am MORE than ready for the hen do next month or/AND that glass of wine and catch up…just say when!
